Our Commitment to the Community

Glow Solar takes pride in our midwestern roots and is committed to giving back to the communities we live and work in. From sponsoring youth sports teams and serving on community boards to donating towards solar systems for non-profits and giving solar presentations at schools, Glow takes pride in supporting a wide range of community organizations through a variety of initiatives.

How We Give Back

Glow’s community giving is channeled through five key initiatives – education, financial contributions, fundraising support, employee volunteering, and our signature “Glow Gives” Initiative.

Educational Programs

As an advocate for renewable energy, Glow is pleased to provide free educational presentations to schools, environmental groups, and community organizations ranging from solar basics to careers in solar.

Financial Contributions

Glow provides sponsorships and donations to select area non-profit and community organizations – focusing on organizations with youth development, educational, and environmental missions.

Fundraising Support

Glow supports the fundraising efforts of non-profit and community partners via a fundraising discount offer that benefits both the organization and its volunteers, families, and friends. This special offer provides a project discount to members of the organization who go solar with Glow, along with a Glow donation to the organization.

Employee Volunteering

Glow encourages employees to give back by volunteering their time, skills, and resources to organizations important to them. To motivate this volunteering, Glow offers employee programs that provide paid time off for volunteering and company matching for charitable donations.

“Glow Gives” Initiative

As a signature effort to support local organizations and promote renewable energy, Glow’s annual “Glow Gives” Initiative provides a donation towards a solar system for a deserving area non-profit or community organization.

2024 “Glow Gives” Recipient = Gilda's Club (Middleton, WI):

Glow proudly donated $7,000 to support the addition of a 25.9 kW solar system to the Gilda’s Club building and provided design, engineering, and installation services for the new 48.6 kW system as the project’s solar vendor.

2023 “Glow Gives” Recipient = Children’s Community School (Mount Horeb, WI):

Glow was pleased to make a $5,000 donation to the Children’s Community School’s Net Zero Building project and provided design, engineering, and installation services for the new 48.6 kW system as the project’s solar vendor. The school was named a 2023 Dane County Climate Champion.

2022 “Glow Gives” Recipient = Heiden Haus Shelter (Shorewood, WI):

Glow is pleased to have donated the design, engineering, and installation of a 3.1 kW solar system to the Village of Shorewood’s Heiden Haus shelter renovation. Village Parks use the shelter year-round – including as an ice rink warming hut in the winter.

Fundraising Support - Program Details

Glow supports the fundraising efforts of non-profit and community partners via a special fundraising discount offer that benefits both the organization and its volunteers, members, and friends. Here are the details of this special offer.

The special offer consists of two elements – a donation to the organization and a discount for their members, friends, and families. Both the donation and discount amounts typically are in the $375 - $750 range.
Payments are triggered when a volunteer, member, or friend of the organization contacts Glow while the offer is active, and then goes solar with Glow in the specified time period, typically 6 - 12 months.
The offer is unlimited - Glow will provide a donation and discount for each volunteer, member, or friend that goes solar as part of the fundraising offer.
The key to fundraising success is sharing the deal with as many members, friends, and families as possible. To help with this sharing, Glow is happy to provide a flyer, a dedicated webpage, graphics, text, and other elements that the organization feels would be helpful.
Glow acknowledges that this special fundraising discount creates a win-win-win situation – the individual that goes solar saves money, the organization gets a donation, and Glow gets business.
